FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation and intense focus. Whilst in this comfortable state, the client is then able to accept suggestions on a subconscious level, in order to achieve the agreed goals discussed with the therapist.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION?
Before you arrive at your session, we will have a free telephone consultation in which you will talk about what you wish to tackle, discuss ideal outcomes and have any questions answered
During the session you will then be guided into a very relaxed, comfortable state and the therapy begins, tailored specifically to the outcomes that you desire.
When the hypnotherapy is completed you will then be brought back to full awareness once again feeling refreshed.
HOW MUCH IS A SESSION?
You will initially have a free telephone consultation before booking in your appointment.
Initial sessions are 90 minutes with subsequent sessions then lasting up to 60 minutes, however I will never end a session time if I feel we need a little extra time. Each session costs £70.
If you feel you require multiple sessions (which will be discussed during your consultation) you have the option selecting 3 sessions at a discounted rate of £175.
Sessions for children and adolescents (up to 17 years) lasts 45 - 60 minutes and cost £55.
WHERE ARE YOU BASED AND CAN YOU DO HOME VISITS?
Most sessions will take place in my treatment room in Redditch, Worcestershire.
For a small additional charge, home visits can be accommodated upon request, providing there is a suitable room available where treatment can be completed undisturbed.
Alternatively, sessions can also be conducted online via Zoom.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
WILL I BE IN CONTROL?
Yes! All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and the hypnotherapist is merely a guide to the state required. You will experience an intense focus throughout the session and will be fully aware of what is happening around you.
You will be able to emerge from a hypnotic state at any point and your subconscious will only accept suggestions that are agreeable and appropriate for you.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
It depends on the issue presented and also on the individual. More simplistic issues such as phobias can be addressed in only 1 session. Everyone is different and it is essential that the underlying, root cause of a issue is addressed in order to then deal with the symptoms. Typical session numbers range from 2 - 6, with additional sessions required for a small number of clients.
CAN ANYBODY BE HYPNOTISED?
It's highly likely that you already have experienced hypnosis, as it is a naturally occurring state of mind you encounter daily. If you have ever been on a journey, "drifted off" and then reached your destination without remembering how you got there, then this is a hypnotic trance.
Some people may be more susceptible to hypnosis than others, and may achieve a deeper level of trance during the process. For hypnotherapy to be effective however, a deep level of trance is not necessary, and a range of techniques will be used in order to find the perfect approach for you.
WHEN WILL I NOTICE THE RESULTS?
Again it depends on the individual. Some people experience immediate results, some may notice changes over time, others may encounter a situation and suddenly realise that everything has changed!
What is essential however, is your desire to make changes. Hypnotherapy cannot make a person do anything they don't want to do. If the motivation to change (for instance to stop smoking or deal with other addictions) is not there, then it is important to discover what it is that is holding you back from making positive changes now. This can be discussed further during your free consultation.
By booking an appointment or multiple appointments, client agrees to give a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. Client agrees to pay the full session fee for any cancelled, missed, or no-show appointments for which they have not given 24 hours notice. Arriving late for an appointment will not change the end time for the appointment. No client contact within the first half-hour of an appointment will be considered a no-show.
March 2020 update: There is no late-cancellation fee if you cancel due to illness before the start time of your session. If you are experiencing symptoms (including cough, fever, sneezing, runny nose, or other cold and flu-like symptoms), it is important that you do not come into the office. Please contact me directly (via email or text message) as soon as possible if you are experiencing symptoms and need to reschedule or wish to switch to an online session. Hypnosis works as well online as it does in-person if you have internet access and a space where you won’t be disturbed by others.
