Mental health issues can impact anyone, whether personally or through someone they know. This advanced two-day course is designed for individuals in supervisory, managerial, or HR roles who have a responsibility for supporting mental well-being within the workplace. This qualification builds upon the Level 2 Award and provides a deeper understanding of a wide range of mental health conditions. Learners will develop the skills to support and guide individuals in crisis and play a key role in promoting a positive mental health culture. Upon completion, learners will be recognised as "Supervising First Aiders for Mental Health". They will be equipped to identify early signs and symptoms, offer appropriate support, and assist individuals in accessing professional help. The course explores the impact of substance misuse, the responsibilities of a mental health supervisor, and the importance of maintaining healthy mental well-being. Learners will also be able to support the development of mental health policies and strategies within the workplace. Syllabus includes: - Understanding First Aid for Mental Health - Recognising a wide range of mental health conditions - The First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan -Starting supportive conversations - Mental health in the workplace - Stress, depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-harm, suicide - Eating disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia - The effects of drugs and alcohol - Promoting a positive mental health culture Accreditation Achieved: Upon successful completion of the assessment, learners receive an Ofqual-regulated: - Level 3 Award in First Aid for Mental Health Supervising (RQF) or - SCQF Level 6 Award (Scotland).
