Mental health conditions can affect anyone, whether directly or through a friend, colleague, or family member. This course is suitable for all but is particularly designed to support employers in promoting a positive mental health culture in the workplace. It provides learners with an in-depth understanding of common mental health conditions and equips them with the skills to respond appropriately if an issue is suspected. On completion, learners will be recognised as "First Aiders for Mental Health" and can act as a point of contact to support colleagues showing signs of a mental health condition. Building on the Level 1/SCQF Level 4 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health, this course introduces the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan. This framework enables learners to offer effective support and signposting to professional services, while offering ongoing assistance during treatment. The course also addresses the impact of drugs and alcohol and prepares learners to help employers implement a workplace culture that supports mental wellbeing. Syllabus includes: - What is First Aid for Mental Health? - Recognising mental health conditions - Providing support and starting a conversation - Drugs and alcohol awareness - The First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan - Mental health in the workplace Accreditation Achieved: Upon successful completion of the assessment, learners receive an Ofqual-regulated: - Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) or - SCQF Level 5 Award (Scotland).
